Erin completed her B.A.(Hons) at Queen’s University. She obtained her social work degrees at McGill University (B.S.W. & M.S.W.). Erin received her law degree (LL.B) from McGill. Erin completed her Master of Laws (LL.M- Health) on a part-time basis at the University of Ottawa. Her social work training was undertaken at the Montreal Neurological Hospital and the Psychiatric Patient Advocate Office. Erin articled at a mid-size Bay Street law firm. Because of her background in law and social work, Erin incorporates both skill sets in her holistic and client-centered approach.
Erin settled in Ottawa in 2005 and has subsequently worked at community organizations as both a social worker and a lawyer including at a Law Foundation of Ontario/ Legal Aid Ontario ‘Access to Justice’ project. Erin has been a frequent guest lecturer and part-time professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa. Erin has consistently been involved in community organizations as a volunteer, including the Canadian Mental Health Association and the Dalhousie Food Cupboard (the Ottawa Food Bank). Erin has also volunteered in welcoming newcomers to Ottawa through community programs, like ‘Learn to Skate’ (CCI) and refugee sponsorship (JFS).
